CHUCKAlthough no-one can claim that "Chuck", broadcast on NBC on Mondays at 8:00, is an authentic, gritty, realistic spy drama, and although the plots are somewhat implausible and complicated, I have to admit that the show is also fun, full of action and very enjoyable. As well as the spy action, there's the on/off romance between 'Chuck', played superbly by Zachary Levy, and 'Sarah' played equally as well by Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski, the work scenes at 'Buy More' (filmed very close to my home, at the old 'Mervyns' store) featuring Chuck's crazy co-workers, and the romantic lives of Chuck's sister and her fiancée, now husband, Devon, or "Captain Awesome." Chuck - The Complete First Season
Have we missed something? Did we get something wrong? Please let us know!! While the show has a faithful cult following and is shown in many other countries, it has never fully taken off in the U.S.A. and low ratings lead to it almost being canceled at the end of season two. However, a third season has just been commissioned by NBC, albeit only for thirteen episodes and the series was rescued by the food chain Subway. Rumor has it that Sarah, whose cover has had her working in a frozen yogurt shop in the last season, may well be working in a Subway next year! In an effort to cut costs, rumor also has it that Chuck's work colleagues' roles will be curtailed. The show first aired on September 24th 2007 and has had two seasons so far, the first of just 13 episodes because of the writers' strike, and the second of a full 22. The theme song is "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" performed by Cake, and the series has featured a lot of good music played in the background, from Hall and Oates, Journey and Iggy Pop to new music from Spoon and The National. 'Sarah' is joined by Adam Baldwin's 'Major John Casey' in protecting the 'Intersect', the top-secret government computer embedded in Chuck's brain (well, I did say the show wasn't exactly believable) which allows Chuck to 'flash' on enemy agents, notably those belonging to 'Fulcrum' the arch-enemy of the N.S.A. to whom agents Sarah Walker and John Casey belong. 'Casey' despises 'Chuck', while 'Sarah' has grown to have feelings for him and towards the end of season two is prepared to disobey orders in an attempt to stop Chuck from being taken into protective custody. Whether Chuck's adventures, now that he has installed a new, upgraded 'Intersect' which has also given him some fancy self-defense moves, in the third season can gain a bigger audience and keep the show running for a fourth year remains to be seen. Personally I hope it does. ************************** Do you want to find out the name of the singer of a song you heard played on an episode of your favorite show? So often viewers hear a great song being played in the background but have no idea who is singing it or what the title is. Our site lists the songs played in top TV shows and we will update the titles as soon as we can after each episode. Rather than the pretty awful music that was played in TV shows of the ‘80s, today’s shows play current hits, songs that could be hits, as well as golden oldies! Sometimes the action comes second best to wondering who is singing the song playing in the background. Fans are frantically searching online for titles of songs they’ve heard on their favorite shows within minutes of the shows having aired, and often while the shows are still on, using their laptops or iPhones during the commercials! The most frequently asked question on TV shows fan forums is “Does anyone know the name of that song played on…..?” The forums are soon buzzing with information on what song was featured in a particular scene, or who sang the song playing as the titles came up. Sometimes heated arguments rage on the forums as viewers dispute some of the titles suggested. Please note that sometimes when a TV show is played in another country, for legal reasons the songs played may be different. Also when a series is released on DVD, occasionally different background music is played. If you find our sites about finding the music played on your favorite TV shows enjoyable, please pass the word around to everybody you know and write about us on Twitter , Facebook , MySpace, and any other social networking site.
